Did you know?

1. The government will be sending a survey in January to a random selection of our patients asking for your views on access to our services.

We hope you will be able to answer favourably.

2. You can now book or cancel appointments and order repeat prescriptions online.

Our aim is to improve your ability to get through to us on the telephone.

3. We aim to give you an appointment with a doctor within 2 working days, if you so wish. Though this may not be with the doctor of your choice or at a time that suits you.

You may prefer to wait to see the doctor of your choice or for a more convenient time.

4. We are contracted to provide our services from 8am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

Doctors and staff work during and beyond these hours even though appointments may not be offered throughout these times.

5. We aim to give you a CHOICE of hospitals when referring you for treatment or further investigations.

We may even be able to book your referral online.

On-line Appointment Booking at the Maltings Surgery

Some of you may have experienced difficulty getting through to us on the telephone. We are constantly trying to improve our services, not least in your ability to communicate with us. (Monday mornings, though, continue to be a busy time for us, particularly on the phones, and we would urge you to try to avoid this time for routine matters.)

To try and improve telephone access, we have introduced ON-LINE booking. This means that you may now book, cancel or change an appointment over the internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year. For some this will make a great improvement in our accessibility. Others will still prefer to speak to a human being on the telephone or face to face at reception. We hope, by giving internet access to those who want it, our phone lines will be more available to those who don’t.

You can also order repeat prescriptions on-line.

All you have to do is register at reception to obtain a PIN number. Please give it a try and let us know how you get on.
