Home Visits

Please attend the surgery whenever possible as it takes up to five times longer to see you at home. Visits are made at the doctor's discretion to patients who are too ill to come to the surgery.

To request a home visit, please telephone or call before 10.30am, giving the receptionist clear details of your name, address, telephone number and some idea of the problem. We must ask that requests are received early, so that the doctors can plan their visits. Those received later are referred to the doctor on duty who will assess the medical urgency.

Please do not ask the doctor to make a home visit unless the patient is genuinely too ill to come to the Surgery. A rash or temperature does not prevent patients coming to the Surgery and will not endanger others. If the Receptionist feels it is necessary, a patient can be found a room away from other patients in which to wait for the doctor.
