COVID-19 Child Immunisation Update

As a result of the current pandemic, the Herts Valley CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group for this area) has taken the decision to move all childhood immunisations across to another service. This has been set up specifically at this time to support General Practice in order to provide the safest possible way of providing important immunisations to all practices in our area and their 0-5 patients and families.

The service for our area is the School Aged Immunisation Service (SAIS) Supported Immunisation clinics – formed as part of the COVID-19 response from Child Health and Public Health England. This service will be in place until at least the 31st July 2020.

Patients will be asked to call their respective SAIS team to make an appointment at a community clinic. The letter you will receive from Child Health makes it clear to call this service rather than individual GP Practices.

Unfortunately the Maltings Surgery cannot provide telephone contact details for the new service as there is no patient line. However be assured you will be contacted in the relevant timeframe with all of the information you will need to make your child’s appointment for immunisation.
