Child Health Checks

Health Visitors

You can normally see the Health Visitors at their drop-in clinic; for further information please contact the Practice.

Health Visitors are all trained Nurses who have extra training and qualifications in child health. They are a fantastic source of information about child development and health, parenting strategies, breastfeeding, nutrition and community support. They also offer help with social, emotional and environmental issues that affect families.

Child health checks

Please do not bring ill children to this clinic.

Child development checks are arranged by the health visitors and are recommended at 10 months and 21 – 24 months of age. For general help and advice relating to under-five year olds, telephone the health visitors on 01727 732 008.

The childhood immunisation clinic, run by our Nurses, is held on:

Tuesday9:00am – 11:00am
Thursday9:00am – 11:00am
Friday1:30pm – 3:30pm

Invitations are sent out to make appointments to attend this clinic. If this is inconvenient, immunisations can be fitted in with Nurses at other times. Please bring your childs personal Child Health Record Book (The Red Book) to every appointment.

Please ensure you attend these appointments to ensure your child is immunised and protected.
