5-8 sessions a week
The Maltings Surgery, St Albans, Hertfordshire
We are pleased to have the opportunity for a GP to join our practice. We are ideally looking for 5-8 sessions but can offer some flexibility for the right person.
The Maltings Surgery has 19000 patients on one site in central St Albans, a historic market city, with excellent local schools and easy commuter links to both London and the countryside.
We are a large yet friendly and supportive team. We are a genuine multidisciplinary primary care team including paramedics (also do home visits) an in-house pharmacist and most recently a health coach.
We are long established as a training practice-taking ST1’s ST3’s & FY2’s and also offer placements to UCLH medical students. We very much recognise the importance of ‘in house’ expertise and actively encourage development of specialist interests and skills.
Prior to the COVID 19 Pandemic we had established a system of morning and afternoon assessment teams which has lent itself well to conversion, as per current guidance, to a full triage system with use of AccuRx, video consulting etc as well as protected face to face slots as needed.
Our practice has three key aims:
- Staff & Patient Wellbeing
- Safely managing our growing workload
- Practice Sustainability
We have weekly whole practice meetings via Zoom and have recently had additional mindfulness sessions for all staff.
We can offer:
- Flexible start and finish times (staffing levels allowing)
- Medical indemnity fully paid
- 1 week (pro rata) paid study leave per year
- GP mentor for new salaried GPs with protected mentoring time
- Car parking in central St Albans with access to shops, restaurants and facilities
- Regular in-house teaching sessions (currently via zoom)
We are lucky enough to have a fantastic team of salaried doctors, some of whom have been at the practice for many years. If you would like the opportunity to speak to one of them you are welcome to contact us as below. Please see our website www.maltingssurgery.co.uk & social media for more information and a flavour of the practice.
