Blood Pressure & COVID-19

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our patients have been unable to attend their face-to-face reviews, including blood pressure measurement. The primary goal of this quality improvement project is to take a new approach to improve patient healthcare.

As part of this project, we are encouraging patients to monitor their blood pressure at home, as it will help to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 for both patients and staff. In addition, even when the risk from Covid 19 reduces, national guidance recommends using home blood pressure readings wherever possible.

If you are able to purchase your own blood pressure machine or make use of one this is ideal. If not, The Maltings Surgery can lend you one for 7 days. There will a refundable cash deposit of £10. However in the case of loss or damage, this deposit would be non-refundable.

Once you have recorded your blood pressures, please use our  online form to enter your readings.

We will continue to monitor the outcome of this project by collecting patient feedback, which you can submit here.
